In the past two years, the topic of home offices has come into sharper focus for most people – including me. Fortunately, the ALR has been very open to this topic since the beginning of the pandemic. Various technical equipment items were ordered directly to my home in a completely uncomplicated and unbureaucratic manner. Since the processes were converted to fully digital within a very short time, I can now work just as well from my home office as from the office.
When it comes to home offices, I often hear the following questions from people I know: “Don’t you feel lonely?” or “Don’t you lose contact with your colleagues? Fortunately, this is not the case. The personal exchange with my colleagues, which I usually maintain face to face in the office, takes place on my days in the home office via video telephony. And let me add: “Everything can – nothing has to” I always have a workstation at my disposal in the office, and there are always colleagues around with whom I like to grab a bite to eat during my lunch break.
Personally, I wouldn’t want to miss the home office anymore, since I no longer live in Munich and therefore have a relatively long commute to work. With daily trips to the office, I would spend a large part of my free time in the car. Thanks to the home office, I can go straight from my desk to the countryside after work, so to speak, which I totally enjoy. I find it very gratifying that this option will also be available in the future!
